How to Prepare for a Spa Visit

Preparation starts a full day before the booking: no alcohol for 24 hours, water before and after, and arrival 15–20 minutes early.

The day before: alcohol is off the table for a full 24 hours. The reason is arithmetic — a single 15-minute sauna round can draw about 0.5 litres of sweat, and arriving already dehydrated makes every heat round harder to tolerate.

Before leaving: drink 500 ml of water. Hydration is the one preparation step with a measured dose, matched to the half-litre of sweat a heat round releases.

On arrival: be on site 15–20 minutes before the booked slot. That margin covers changing, showering before any heat room or pool, and starting the treatment unhurried rather than spending the first minutes of it settling down.

During the heat: keep rounds to 8–15 minutes, cool for 10–20 minutes after each one, and stop at two or three rounds. The cool-down is part of the session, not time lost from it.

Two standing holds override any plan: heat and deep-tissue work are deferred at a fever of 38 °C or above, and during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.

To plan the visit itself, the duration chart sorts every treatment by minutes, and the temperature comparison explains what each heat room will feel like.
